Charlotte teaches pupils of all ages and abilities, from beginners to post grade 8. She aims to have a good rapport with her pupils. They all call her by her christian name; 'Mrs Storrs' is out! Pupils are encouraged to audition for and join local or national orchestras, and are well supported if they want to take Associated Board exams. Exam results are generally very good, and over the years a number pupils have received scholarships, bursaries or awards.
She has taught many children from other countries, often in German, French and Italian (or Dutch!) until the pupil's English became rather better than her foreign efforts! She usually gives beginners 30 minute lessons up to grade 2 or 3. Beyond that she prefers 45 minute lessons to be able to cover a programme of scales, technique, repertoire, duo playing, sight-reading and aural tests.
